8.1 Acknowledgment
Upon receipt, we will send written acknowledgment within 2 business days with:

8.2 Response Timeline
Standard Timeline: 25 business days from receipt
Complex Requests: May be extended (with notice)
9.1 Request Fee
No request fee for initial request. You do not need to pay to submit a PAIA request.
9.2 Access Fee
Access fees may apply if we incur costs:
Copying (per page): R0.50
Printing (per page): R0.50
Postage/Courier: Actual cost
USB drive/media: R50Staff time (per hour): R250
9.3 Deposit
For requests requiring substantial costs (>R100), we may require a deposit (1/3 of estimated cost) before processing begins.
We may refuse access to records if they fall under PAIA exemptions:
Commercial Information: Trade secrets, business information, financial information
Confidentiality & Third-Party Rights: Information disclosed in confidence by third parties
Personal Information: Personal information about identifiable persons
Legal Advice: Attorney-client privileged information
Public Safety & Security: Information that could endanger public safety
Incomplete Records: Records that are incomplete or still being processed
Frivolous or Vexatious Requests: Requests that clearly abuse the system

You have the right to appeal our decision:
